My first post! I have a 2008 185 sport with a 4.3 190 hp. I boat at an elevation of 3,500 ft. I just purchased the boat but found a good price on a Laser 2 19 pitch prop I have the 1.81 gears ratio. What pitch prop are any of you running at an elevation from 3-4,000 ft.

I had and 1992 larson 190 with the same motor and drive and had a 19 pitch Lazer @ and loved it. The sea Ray is 300 lbs heavier.

Thanks for your feed back.

I have the 2005 version of that boat and motor that I bought used. It came with a 17p 3 blade Vengeance prop. I go to lakes near sea level and at 5000+ ft. That prop did OK at altitude but at lower altitude it just wasn't enough, good hole shot though. I have since changed to a 19p High Five which I use at both high and low elevations and it does well. No problems with wake boarders or slalom skiers, even when loaded down. Slower out of the hole at altitude but not bad.

I have a 2005 190hp that came with a 19p 3 blade, then this was upgraded to a 19p 4 blade which was a good improvement, recently I went to High five 19p with a further improvement. I use this at about 3000ft ASL for skiing, wakeboarding and tubing. Seems to be a better all round prop for me.

I switched out a 21P Vengeance for a 19P High Five this winter, and took my boat out for its first 2013 outing yesterday. The difference in hole shot was pretty amazing, and I had even taken my SmartTab setting down a notch. Didn't run it over 3000 rpm, as I'm not that curious about the impact it'll have on my top speed.
