just took my new to me 76 srv 240 on her maiden voyage to her new home and she pulls hard to the left, so much so that i really have to fight to keep it straight. the boat accelerates well and gets right on plane but according to her dreamomiter it only gets to about 20 mph also only gets to about 3400 rpms. if you let go of the wheel for an instant it swings violently to port. i dont think it has power steering but still this is a bit nuts.

Have you have a boat with power trim before? It sounds like you're experiencing hull/bow steer from having too much boat in the water because of not trimming properly. Once you get on plane, you need to trim up a bit and that'll take care of both the steering and the RPM issue... you're speed will go up, too.

ill give that a try next time i go out. there are 3 buttons for the trim where my last boat just had up and down for the outdrive, could someone explain it to my, i hate to sound like i dont know what im doing, considering i came from a larger boat
