Srv- 197??

I'm new to the Sea Ray world and am looking at a SRV- 197. I was told it was a 1978 or 79. It has a 305 in it with a Merc outdrive. The owner has receipts for a recent short block kit and the outdrive gone through by a reputable marine mechanic. Everything on the boat works except for the bilg pump and vents. The interior needs redone and the floor bad right infront of the motor. It is on a easyloader trailer. What can you guys tell me about this boat? Are there any particulars to look for when i'm inspecting it? Estimated value? Any hints or tips?

I got some more information on the boat. It has a 898 merc in it. I'm surprised nobody seems to know anything about this boat. Were these not very popular models?

Hi newbie here, just bought one of my own but a 1976 with 888 (Ford 302). Really like it so far, has an updated interior, and rides very well.

So have you taken her out and tried her on the water then?

Soft floor could lead to more once you open that up.

They were great boats in their day and still are for that matter.

Price should be low even with the newer mechanicals since you have an unknown rot issue and the interior needs redone. Boats aren't moving much right now...
