I a looking to purchase the Stock Magentic Flag Pole and Mount for my 225WE. Does anyone have the magnetic pole and mount as an option on your boat and if so does it hold the pole in OK? Just dont want the pole to blow out and loose it. This is the flush mount that goes on the transom with magentic pole. (Or magentic according to the SR Product description)

Thanks
Jason

Don't have one myself, but:

I've sold many boats with the poles - no one has ever come back and told me it popped out.

It does feel very solid when the mount "pulls" the pole in.

I wanted to order one from my SeaRay dealer and they told me that they were not available any longer. Anyone have ideas of how to get one.

The Sea Ray online parts inventory shows them in stock. Sometimes it's not always up to date, but it's usually pretty close.

We've got one on our Sundeck transom. Stays where it's supposed to.

Thanks for all the replies!

Avguy: Do you happen to have a picture of it? I am assuming it is designed to go in about the same place on my boat.

Thanks!!

I just put one in my 210 Select, had it out on the lake with with the boat at full bore and it was no problem at all. When the flag pole goes in it feels solid and stays that way. I bought mine at Peter's Marine (where I bought my boat), they had to order it but it only took a couple of days!

Thanks for all the comments, I should have it in a few days. I do have a question, can anyone tell me the proper place to mount it? The parts manual shows it on the upper Starboard of the transom, near the transom shower but I have seen a picture of another 225 that appeared to have the flush mount installed in the back port corner of the integrated part of the swim platform (not extended platform) but I could not tell for sure if that was it. Can someone tell me which would be the correct location on a 225WE or was this an option installed by dealers with the location being their choice.

I just want it to go where it was meant to.

Also, any tips for drilling the hole?

Thanks

Sorry.....they're making me work for a living this week & just now saw your post. The boat is at the dealer but should have it back by the end of the week. I'll get a photo then.

Thanks Scott, I'll look forward to it. I picked up the pole and mount yesterday. Now I need to get up the nerve to start drilling! :wow:

Here's a pic of ours

If it doesn't come with a template, make one. Triple check that the template is correct. If you really want to be sure, do a practice run. Following the template, install the mount into a scrap piece of wood.

Thanks for the picture Scott, I have about decided to mount mine in roughly the same spot but on the Starboard side since my transom door is on the Port side.

Also thanks for the link to Southco, tcason. That looks like the same part. I tried but could not find the OEM for the pole/mount before I bought it at the dealer.

Good idea, I may just give it a shot this weekend. :smt001

I like Dennis's idea. Try the piece of wood and if all looks OK you should be fine Jason.

No wonder you wanted to know if I will be at the Marina this weekend. (By the way, did I ever tell you I don't wash windows or drill holes in other peoples boats?) :smt043:smt043
