Hello,
I recently picked up my 2019 210 SPX with a Mercury 150 and found that the dealer put the wrong prop on it...not the first time I've had this issue with them on a boat they sold me. The sticker on the motor gives a max rpm of 5000-5600 and currently WOT is about 7000rpm. The prop currently installed is a Black Max 15x17 17p. Any suggestions on what to change it out with? Normally I'd just take it in to have the problem solved but everyone seems to be booked out now for the start of the season.
Thanks!

I’m surprised you can hit that RPM regardless of prop. Any chance the tach is bad, would think the obd would code out by then? Maybe a spun hub?

I have the same setup on my 210. Same prop. My RPM at WOT is right around 5900. I can trim out a bit and get a little more out of it.. Rev Limiter should kick in way before 7K rpm.

Thanks for the info. The Merc Prop selector recommended a different prop that I might try, but I'm probably just gonna take it back to the dealer this week and let them figure it out.

I have a 19spx with the 150 and the boat came stock with a 19” aluminum prop. It would hit WOT right in the middle of the range around 5400 rpms. I wanted more pulling power as we
Mostly use the boat for skiing and tubing so I got a 17” 4 blade and now it will top out at 5800 if I let it. Sounds like your tach May be a bit off.

Sounds like the dip switch setting on your tach is wrong. On my 2016 210 SPX it was wrong and I had to change it. There is a switch on the back of the tach that is selectable based upon engine cylinders (4, 6,8).

unless you are alone that seems like a good prop once the boat gets loaded with passengers and gear.

This is an outboard not a stern drive.

I took it back to the dealer, they said that the settings on the back of the tach were wrong...that problem has been solved. Then when I picked it up the stereo wouldn't turn on at all anymore. Took it back and left it with them for a few days and just picked it up again today. Now, the stereo turns on, but anytime I press the trim switch it turns to static. Everytime I take the boat in to the dealer, I have to haul it out with my crane and tow it two hours south again... I think I'm just about done dealing with this stuff.
