Started today. For you smooth guys, how much bubble gum do you end up using. 37 foot boat and I went thru probably 2/3-3/4 bottle for one hull side.

Also, do you all do anything to rid the new whool pads of all the friz before you start.
That sounds about rights. I think I went through 2/3 bottle to do my size of boat…..+2 for Shaps and +1 for Mauler34Rod

I told you I was running out of things to do before spring. I happened to see my wiper arms were rusting and my blades were a mess….. I thought I would replace everything but when I saw the price of the arms I decided to refinish. I took them to the shop and glass beaded them and polished….. make shift paint booth….. a couple coats of clear…. They should last a while….New blades are on the way

@Blueone Did the wiper blades give you any grief while removing them? I'm replacing the black rubber "bushing" when it gets warmer. I watched a Maintenance Tech at my Marina spend hours trying to get the wiper arm off of the rotating shaft.

My blades must be different. I just have a bolt. I’m not just replacing the rubber wiper. I’m replacing the whole wiper. I got replacements from TAC an online bus part store. I also replaced the spray nozzles

I mis understood….. what you do is lift the wiper arm up….. until it clicks and stays up then the thing just pops off….. you will never get it off because of the spring tension if you don’t lift it up

Copy. After a bit of digging, I believe that our wiper assemblies are a bit different. I'm heading to the boat tomorrow so I can confirm. Thanks.

I used these to get the stuck arms off
FIRSTINFO F3393 Patented Universal Windshield Wiper Arm Puller/Battery Terminal Removal Tool-Heavy Duty, Adjustable, Made in Taiwan https://a.co/d/aIVhDNN

There is a conical knurled insert that may come off with the arm.. no big deal if it does, just fyi.

@Shaps Thanks for the tip. I purchased the wiper arm kit from AM Equipment. I need to replace the rubber boot. While I was there, thought I would go ahead and refurb/replace the nuts, washers, etc.

What's different on the 48's wipers is that there are two shafts per wiper arm. In my head, ours were both held on with a nut. Now I'm not sure. I'll find out tomorrow! I brought a small wheel puller down to the boat last week just in case.

I replaced those rubber covers and rehabbed the arms a couple of years ago. There are 2 arms to each side, each held down with a nut. Your memory is correct.

Like a few others on this thread, I hired out the job of detailing this year. Our Marina has a decent detail operation. They pulled the boat on Tuesday. First time she's been out in 2 years. I went back to the Marina this morning to check on progress. I am very pleased!

The pics of the boat in the lift are the "before" photos.IMG_8377.jpgIMG_8384.jpgIMG_8401.jpgIMG_8402.jpgIMG_8403.jpg

I'd be happy with that. I'm using a new detailer this year and hope for similar results.
