It is supposed to be a nice weekend in the NE. Is anyone planning to remove covers? I was thinking about peeling off the wrap and putting up the canvas. Even if we were to get another snow it probably wouldnt hurt it

What do you think, what are your plans?

Wow, That is brave. I am south of you and I could remember getting a foot of snow in March. In like a Lion and out like a lame and all that crap... JG

Kind of feels like this Scott?

For some reason, I have the urge to become a Saints fan, but I can't quite put my finger on it. Anyway, I can't wait for spring, I really need the hooter temperatures. I like it breast when everything turns green and alive. I can't wait.

I flew from Buffalo to Cleveland to Orlando today. Spent a good 45 minutes flying above the Eastern shore of Lake Erie. I was hoping like hell I would see lots of wide pressure cracks and open water signalling an end to this endless winter...

Good luck with all that.

Solid ice as far as the eye could see.

Maybe by June my marina will be ice free - but I'm not making any bets.

I'd like to kick Al Gore right in the noots...

My launch day is scheduled for April 2, around the same time every year. I only need a nice day to take down the cover and couple nice days to bottom paint and wax the hull. This year I have a few addiional projects to fit in though, pop up cleats in side of swim platform, thru hull lights and the sooner I get the top off the sooner I can get the canvas folks over for the new camper back (or end up on the bottom of the list). Soooo with so few nice days in March I was thinking about capitalizing on the weekend weather.....but as many have reminded March can be rough. Hmmm

I am going down the Cape tomorrow just to feel her and touch her.....She is scheduled for the 15th of April to get wet.

hmmm... I remember as a kid, going to take my SAT's on april 18, and I almost didn't make it, 18" of very heavy snow!

mid-50's and sunny here this weekend. Will probably take the family somewhere tomorrow on the boat for dinner...

Throttles are on the right/shifters on the left? Or was it the other way around... been so long.

Just play with them at the dock and you'll figure it out soon enough! I am sleeping on the boat tonight, replacing starters tomorrow and I may just have to fuel up and take my grandaughter out for a spin!

Lake Winnipesaukee, NH, is already at 38 degrees; which usually doesn't happen until early April. The bays are opening up and I've heard there's open water in the broads.

My marina expects to be launching boats in late March.

I remember one ice out about 4 years ago; had the boat in the water on March 16 and off to starboard was an ice fisherman and way out ahead was a snowmobile, all of us sharing the same patch of water. That's what I call a good early start to the boating season!

My goal this year is to ski with my wife in the morning and then head to the marina in the afternoon for the first trip to our island camp.

Cheers to the 2010 boating season!

Pulled the trigger and the shrink wrap! Could not resist it was 58 degrees at the marina. They are calling for the same the next two days. Got paint? I will tommorow!

Maybe Monday I will try to remember and figure out which ones were the throttle and which are the shifters :smt043

The season is starting! :smt038

Hey, Russ, Im looking to use SEADOG "S" s.s pop up cleats on the platform to hold the dink down what are you using and what are they for? I thought it wasd a good idea and a clean look . 50 degrees yesterday i washed the dinghy and gettin itchy!!!!

Got to wash the boat today for the first time this year. It was a lot clener than it had been in prior years. May the snow kept all the crude out of the air this year. I can usually watch the dirt roll off but not this year, but the water was only slightly dirty.

Graet day here in Cape May.

Haven't done much yet pulled the props to change the zincs and brought them home to clean up. Next weekend home to reinstall the batteries and clean the bilge couple of other things not pulling shrink for a couple more weeks. thru maybe paint the outdrives next weekend. Depends on weather. Launch mid April.

Right now I have Weaver davits, flip her up and I have a single stay that holds it upright. I am looking at fabricating some slide on davits. I also just bought some 7" pop up cleats that I was going to mount in the side of the swim platform to double as hold downs and an easier place to tie up when returning to the boat. Too many projects too little time!
