I finally got around to doing some upgrades this spring, some of which I've been putting off for way too long. My kids are finally getting old enough to really enjoy going out on the boat and don't need afternoon naps, so I hope to get a lot of use out of the boat this year.

First was a transom mounted stereo remote. This thing had been laying in my garage so long it's become obsolete ;-) I wanted to be able to adjust the stereo volume while swimming at anchor without having to climb all the way back into the boat. This was actually a pretty easy install once I got the nerve built up to start the hole saw.

Next was a 12v accessory socket and a transom mounted remote trim switch. The trim switch is just for convenience and is really handy. The 12v socket serves two purposes. 1st I use it to plug in my battery tender when the boat is parked in the garage. 2nd it's a high amp socket so I can use it to power my high amp draw airhead inflator without having to connect it directly to the battery. This will be nice since before I would have to get into the engine hatch to connect it to the battery.

Lastly, was a big one I'm hoping will make skiing and wakeboarding much more fun. I just installed a PerfectPass Stargazer speed control system. Looking forward to trying it out this weekend. First pic shows the solenoid mounted to the exhaust. Second pic it the connection to the throttle cable, third is the dash gauge that replaces the factory speedometer.

Dude! That looks off the hook. (No pun intended). Your kids are gonna love it. I want a ride. Enjoy, there are no stronger family bonds than those made aboard a boat.

I miss the days when my kids needed a nap. It was a great excuse to get in a nap myself when I kept them company.
