Took my daughter and 3 Sorority Sisters (hers) out on the boat to Panama City Beach today. We anchored out in front of all of the big party areas, and enjoyed the atmosphere. The banana boat guy gave them a ride to the beach and I worked on the boat. When they came back out, they sunned, swam, and listened to music.

Sooooo,,,, if anyone sees a blue 340 on MTV, it's probably mine!

I'll tell you about my new remote control in another thread.

To this day i have never experienced/witneseed more sinful things than spending Spring break in Panama City Beach. Seriously the most ridiculous week of my life

Cool John,
My kids just got back form PCB. They went camping at the state park. Were did you have your boat. I thought you mainly stayed inside by shell Island. I'm assuming if the banana boat picked them up you had to be outside up by the main drag??? How were the sea/surf if you where in that close?

Yeah, we cruised out the Jetty and around the State Park to the NW. We were about 5 miles down the strip in front of the clubs. I anchored in about 12 feet, and the 5 knot South wind pushed us to about 10 feet from the first sand bar (at a slight angle), which in that area, is only 20 or 30 feet off shore.

The waves were fine for me, but the girls did have a little trouble walking around on the deck. The waves were about 3 feet and breaking behind us. Big enough to play in, but not big enough to surf. My boat ended up about 15 feet closer to shore than the area where they anchor the parasail boat.

Dad was watching, but these are generally very decent girls. My wife and I believe firmly in a strong household and bringing them up right, then giving them almost enough rope to hang themselves (trusting them to a certain degree), but not completely letting them go. We have been lucky so far, but life is definitely not without its little frustrations (bent cars, lost/broken/flushed cell phones...).

I asked the girls if the beach was full of 20 year old girls and 28 year old guys - yep. Lots of predators out there.

PS - Inside Shell Island is our normal social thing, but we go to Destin twice a year, Pt St Joe, Apalach, Crooked Island, local restaurants, fishing, and cruising - you never know.

Damn I'm feelin older now. I was in Panama for spring break in '00-'01. We were 21 & 22 at the time and felt old but we did have a blast! Club la Vela and Spinnakers. We stayed at the high rise condo place right next door to Spinnakers which was awesome. Remember going back to the bar at 2am! I would NOT survive those hours today.

You feel old??? When we used to go back in '68~'69 the old Long Beach Casino was still there...the Hang Out and all the little yellow cottages across the street.Nothing but high rise condos now. Frank W. probably remembers. We used to go way out to Laguna Beach and rent a house for $75/week. You could take an empty gallon milk jug into any package store and they would fill it with Schlitz Draft for $1. My generation got run out of PC in the early '70s and migrated to Daytona & 'Lauderdale..talk about Sodom and Gamora!!!!....but that's another story!!

I am from B'ham, Al originally and remember Mom & Dad taking me to Panama City in the '50s....made my mind up then at 5 years of age that I was going to live in Florida!!

Moved here in'76 but I got my feet in the sand for the first time on Panama City Beach...good memories I will never forget.

Ok, tell the truth which one is yours John. Is it the only one on the Banana boat waving at dad while all the others are checking out the boy on the jet ski?
Sure looks like some clear water down there. What is the water temps. My Daughter said it was still pretty cold. She did not get in it.

Growing up in Louisiana, PCB was the place to go for Spring Break. Of course that was back in the 70's. It looks like it's still a fun place. Makes we want to go back...with my boat!

Very, very astute.
