Hey Jim, what kind of service do you have to subscribe to for the updates and what is yearly cost?

Thanks

Never mind, I found it.

Looks like $149 a year. Not bad really, when you figure everything it does.

Looks like the sensor monitoring is extra but it does not have a price posted for that service.

This looks great. I'm a Spot2 user and love the service. The tracking function is really cool, the system will update your account (only when you turn this function "on") and then you can track your progress (or have friends / family watch your footprints) as you make your way.

I used the Spot2 during a 4 day Erie Canal trip this past summer and the results are very cool. Friends / family could log on to our personalized SPOT website and see a live Google-type map with our location updated every 10 minutes.

With this new SpotHug system, not only does it provide a boat security system, it also seems to have all the functions of the Spot2, but permanently installed on the boat.

I want one.

I have asked them two questions which I have not been able to find the answer to on the site and will post the answers when I hear back.

1. How much is the "Sensor Monitoring Service" per year on top of the standard $149/yr subscription fee?

2. Specifically, what sensors can be installed? They say you can have up to 4 sensors for bilge, battery and boat but no specifics on different sensors or price for the sensors.

With all the booze you guys have onboard you need to get one of these to protect it. If I slipped my boat this would be on my list. Very cool, MM
