Splashed our new 260DA!

Congrats on the new boat. You'll have a blast.....once you and your Admiral can put up the canvas in a rain squall without saying a word to each other............

It's been raining for the last two days, but it will be in the 80's by midweek (yes, in Minnesota!) so I'm leaving the canvas up to let it stretch. The Admiral is a real trooper so I think we'll be fine :)

Congrats Steve! Backing into the slip with a single, excellent! We took delivery of our "new" used 320 from MM in Bayport. Did you take delivery in Bayport? If so, who was your captain. I can say that the only thing I was not impressed with was our captain, the rest of the delivery was top notch. I also learned backing in and got it into our slip on the second try Friday and the first try on Sat.

Where are you slipped? We are at Afton on E dock.

Greetings!
We took delivery at Windmill and are slipped there on B dock. Our captain was Larry. Did a super job. The only glitch was that they screwed up putting the name on the boat. ALL CAPS in brush font. Looks terrible. MM is going to redo it.

If it was Larry from Bayport, then he did our systems overview. Nice guy and really interested in making sure we were all set. Our captain on the other hand, was a crusty guy who knew his stuff, but was not a great teacher. However, we did get it backed in on our own after driving down from Bayport.

MM seems very interested in doing a good job. They spent a bunch of time getting our logo correct. Glad to hear you had a great experience with MM.

See you on the Croix!

So you're in Afton Marina?

CONGRATS!!!! My wife and i LOVE our girl. I did the same thing and read up on the handeling characteristics before we got her and applied the concepts and have had no problems. This is a great boat for its class in my humble opinion. My crusing buddy has a 270 Crownline and when we are tied up together...I swear our boat is like a foot longer. Also, he envies our cockpit layout as it is nice and open whereas he has that double helm seat that's not really "double". It just takes up room that could have been left open for more space comfort.
We are rolling to Hilton Head next weekend for a 2 night stay, with a stop off in Beaufort overnight before we get to Hilton Head. It's going to be a great cruise. We got her in November with 30 min. on her and currently have 110 hours. No big problems except I have the preverbial 2005 260 Sundancer leak somewhere. Other than that, engine, drive and all sytems are pretty much a go. If you ever have water pressure problems after awhile, make sure you clean the filter on the intake side of the pump and that should take care of the problem. That was my latest discovery I thought I would share.
ENJOY HER!!

Thanks for the info. We've been on the boat nearly every evening since she went in. Just can't seem to stay away. Last night we dropped anchor for the first time. A windless would be nice, but we managed to do well regardless. We're thrilled to have a generator and many other goodies. We'll do the windless on the next boat...which is just a matter of time :)

Have a wonderful cruise!!
