After all the Mother's Day stuff, I asked my oldest grandson if he wanted to take a ride with me to the Dry Stak and finish getting Nut & Honey ready to splash. I had the freshly cleaned snap-in carpet on the back seat of my car.

I told the wife where we were going. She gave me that wave off, like go do what ya want! Guess She didn't hear the part where I said that we were going for our shake down cruise!

What a great afternoon it turned out to be......70 degrees, sunny, a light chop on the Mississippi. The last thing that was left to do was fire up the genny and check all the systems. 15 minutes later, we shoved off for a run up river. I didn't want to quit.

There were a few die-hard boater/campers on the Princeton Beach. It was only in the 40's Saturday night, with high winds. I am sure it was a long night for some of them.

The boat ran great. Everything worked like it was supposed too!. We cruised for a while at 3600 giving us a speed of about 26 MPH. The only thing we forgot to put on the boat was TP.

Loaded a couple of new Brent Burns CD's in the changer and cranked the volume up!.

I was supposed to get my grandson back home by 7 PM. We had a minute to spare........

That sounds like a perfect Mother's Day. We are afloat as of 2 weeks ago. But have not yet dewinterized yet....that is the chore for this weekend. I was in Milan for a meeting today, looked like the pool level was up slightly when I crossed on I280

We were out this past week end and the week before. Last Saturday was to windy @ 20 to 30 mph. Last Sunday was nice but the fish weren't biting, at least not for me. The boat's running great and even the original 2005 batteries seem happy. (I know. I'm on borrowed time.)

We're looking forward to cruising from Captain's Quarters up to Lake Pepin and beyond July 10 -18. Can't wait.

Dennis, we are going up to the same area the end of June. I have not boated any further up north than Dubuque!

I have a spread sheet that is like a mini-Quimbies guide. I have our Dry Stak as "0" with everything on it from MO to the 1st lock on the river.

Look me up. I should have copies this week.
