Dryer sheets. Really. Put a few around the boat and the spiders stay away. Plus the boat smells nice and fresh.
+1 on the Dryer Sheets, I use lavander dryer sheets. Spiders do not like lavander.

It's been three days! What the results?
They built a house on the drier sheets.... webs all around....
I had high hopes, haha....
I think I'll try the spider spray next....
I didn't have this issue down in Florida. The marina was real good about maintenance and keeping things clean. Here, it's a fixed dock and people don't maintain their slip area. So keeping spiders away might be a bit more of a challenge.

Oh well, I liked thinking they worked. Maybe it's something different I do that keeps them in check. haha
Try a insecticide called Tempo, farm stores use it around my town and they swear by it, and now so do I!
Does tempo have warnings about aquatic life? Many insecticides aren't supposed to be used near water.

We use a product that is not for use around water, but our lake is large and chemicals get diluted quickly.
Perhaps... I'm not saying they don't work. Some people here seem to have a different outcome. Maybe the spiders here were bread in a nuclear reactor... haha
:smt100:smt043I am in no way a tree hugging environmentalist, but that statement is just about...
Nevermind.
