I have all the red and orange dots on my swim platform. tried deck wash of course, soft scrub, purple power and they are still on there:smt021 how do you get these off ???:smt100

The sun will eventually bleach them out but if you're in a bigger hurry, try a Mr. Clean Magic Eraser. Also try the Soft Scrub with bleach. Put some on the spots, let it sit for several minutes then give it a scrub. Gives the bleach some time to work on the stains.

If you have a buffer, hit the gelcoat with some polishing compound and they should come out. Once you have a nice shine, then apply some wax and that will make the new spider crap easier to wash off.

do you wax your swim platform? Ive heard woody wax is best for non skid.

The wax product is your choice.

I do mine with Flagship along with the rest of the boat and don't find it makes the non skid slippery. Others may disagree but I have been doing this for six years and haven't slipped yet or fallen in the drink. :smt043

Spray Nine does great for me. Spray it on sit a minute soft brush and it's gone.

I use Clorox Clean-Up with Bleach on a wet deck.
Spray it on and the crap dissolves immediately!
Follow that with a washing of Starbright Non-Skid.

Been doing this for the past 4 years with no ill effects.

You could use a bug bomb to get rid of them but be careful with that stuff. :smt021 . problem solved. :smt001

Dan-
Do you think the Clorox will strip the wax or polish layer? I find that wetting down the boat followed by the Starbrite Non skid (letting it sit for a few minutes and rinsing takes care of it ..usually.

always looking for new solutions to clean that nasty crap.

Could it be rust stains from little metal shavings? Any grinding goin on around or near your boat recently? Polish would be my choice.
