speedo inop

It's on the leading edge of the drive just above the horizontal line of the propshaft. Check up by the bellows and make sure it's hooked up. If you had your drive serviced since last use they may have forgotten to hook it up.

If you pull the boat out the first thing to check is the hole for the pitot itself. Make sure your don't have anything blocking it. I have had small pieces of wood stuffed in there if you've hit a stick or anything.

If it was working last fall and you had your drive pulled for servicing over the winter, it's highly likely the pitot tube didn't get reconnected like Woody said.

turns out the hose was off the drive. Boy the water was cold only 59 degrees. I figured it was easier to be cold for a couple of minutes rather then pull ing the boat to put back in 2 minutes later.
Not to mention this method required no one else to help.

You got to do the polar bear thing in the winter so you ready to tackle something like this. Some people think us guys in N. WI chop holes in the ice and jump in because we drink to much beer and then get stupid. Really we're training for summer boating on Lake Superior.
