Speaker install

Has anyone installed an extra set of speakers in the radar arch of a 260. There are round access plates on each side that look ideal for another set of speakers. How would it be done?

Yes, I had someone do it for me. The problem is to find the right speakers that will fit, both in diameter and more importantly depth. I had Clarions put in, the same as the other 2. This guy did wonders. Complete install with an extra speaker thrown in for $200. Now comes the next step, sub woofer. Absolutely essential. Those 6" speakers will not take the bass. One thing to think about before this is done. If you want to add additional electronics (antennae, etc on the arch) do this before adding the speakers. It gets a little tight wiring with the speakers in. Also if your vhf antenna is in the same place as mine (starboard right where the cut is) you will need to reverse the bolts holding the mount to give the added depth needed.

They should go into the 5 inch hole on both sides of the arch and the depth will be tight. I will let you know how they turn out and how the wiring goes.
