Spark plugs

1998 3.0. Non lx. So when I bought the boat last summer. And did the plugs wires cap and rotor. I replaced the plugs that were in their. ( auto lite 104's). I was doing some googling today because I will replace again this spring after I burn off the fogging oil. But merc recommends bpr6fs. So I cross referenced that. And of course a million diff plugs came up.

HOWEVER. No where does it say auto lite 104s.

Ever since ive had the boat. It will jump like crazy for a second or two. And then smooth out. Like its missing. I'm wondering if that is my issue. So. What yall 3.0 guys running.

Check the length and heat range of what is in there compared to Merc recommended. I would stick with the recommendations, but probably cross reference it to a NGK.

I would go back to the OEM plug. On the missing/stumbling then smoothing out, could be plugs, but sounds more like the timing not advancing correctly. I would check the timing/advance.
