Hey all -

I picked up a used spare tire for the 182BR. What I need now is a tire mount to the trailer. Any thoughts on best mount and mount location? I have the swing away hitch. I've looked at cabelas and bass pro - and they have several mounts, however, not sure if any of them give the proper angle or clearance. If you have any photos - I'd love to see!

thanks!

Any of the mounts that both get the tire away from the frame and hold the tire at an angle will work. The difference from one to another will be in construction, metal thickness and level of galvanizing. You can mount it aft of the winch stand - a few feet back from where the trailer frame splits away from the tongue.

Oh, FYI, Shoreland'r (your trailer manufacturer) makes their own spare tire holder. It is very beefy.

May have answered my own question (sorry - should have searched first!)

Has anybody mounted using the regular offset mount (not the extra offset as recommended in previous link, as it appears twice as expensive as regular mount)?
That will depend on your trailer brand, size of the spare, and clearance from the hull.
I used a CE Smith on mine old trailer and it is stout but not sure of the offset you need
