I was shocked to buy a boat and trailer with no spare, but that is another story...

Where on the trailer is there a spot meant to hold a spare?

Also, are most trailers for the 190 only single axle?

First off, Welcome to CSR! The best source on the internet for all things Sea Ray!

Next, hopefully Dennis will chime in soon. He has a firm grip on things like this.
I'll venture to say though that you'll need to buy a bracket of sorts that would mount on/near the tongue of the trailer and that yes, most trailers for 190s are single axle.

Again, welcome to CSR!

I purchased a spare tire mounting rack from my local (authorized) Shorelandr dealer for the single axle trailer that came with my 2010 185. Pretty sure that's the exact same single axle used on the 190. When I traded it for a 2012 190, that same rack also fit on the Shorelandr dual-axle it came with. (Note: I ordered my 190 from Sea Ray, and specified a dual-axle trailer).

I also bought the 2012 190, the standard trailer is single axle, but I have also seen a single axle heavy duty this year on the 2013 from my local dealer, I don't know if it is the exact same model, but they do charge a little more for it. The picture from norcalglenn is exactly where I have mine on a singe trailer. They don't come with it and when I bought it my salesman was surprised I asked for it, for one it's more money for him and for two you'd be crazy not to have a spare. I have found it's usually cheaper to buy it upfront with the boat then to go back and buy it later.

My 2012 185 is a single axel and didn't come with a spare. I bought on with the mount and installed it where SR advised me to. I hatred the placement and it freaked my wife out while she was launching and going back on the trailer so we took it off and it stays in the bed of my truck. Since the boat never goes anywhere on the trailer without the truck it's never been a problem.

Correct - the "normal" 190 Sport trailers are single axle (with a HD, single axle available for an upcharge). There are two 190 single axles, though - depending on whether or not the boat has the 4cyl or the V6.

ShoreLand'r does make their own mount - similar to the one linked above. It can be mounted just aft of where the trailer transitions to a "V". Just like in Glenn's picture.

It can look daunting because it's close to the hull. But in reality, as the boat gets further and further into the trailer, the boat simply straightens out more and more. The only time you might bump the tire is if you back in too far where the stern of the boat is floating all over the place.

Here's a picture of the mount. I agree with Dennis as far as likelihood to bump your boat. I never came in contact with it, with either boat (185/single or 190/dual).

What is the difference with HD upcharge trailer versus regular. If I look where I bought my boat all the new 2013's have the HD trailer, all the 2012's have the regular trailer including mine. All boats are the 4.3l v6, they don't even bother selling the smaller 4 cylinder.

No pics this time...

First trip went great! This is my first I/O experience and am used to outboards so the throttle took some getting use to. It is really touchy...

I have a 2012 190 with the standard shorelander. Still banging my head trying to find a 6 lug spare for it without paying a crazy price. Why they use a 6 lug is beyond me :smt021
