Looking at the possibility of moving to the south shore this season and need some ideas on where to look and what prices you guys are paying down there per foot. So far i've only looked in Freeport.

Places to look at, stay away from etc...

oooppss, Long Island NY.

You mean things exist outside of NY?

I guess that would be your north shore.

Mike,
The anchorage and Blue water Yacht club are some good places. Blue Water is where My boat is . Its in merrick . Pool , club house, great mechanics and family owned. Anchorage is another LARGER marina pool , tennis courts etc....

Surfside 3 in Lindenhurst is updating all of their facility's at the Marina. They have a above ground pool in the main Marina and have exciting new programs for this summer and a new restaurant is opening in either late June or early July. It's a great place for the kids too.

They have the floor already in right next to the Gas dock in the same place as the old restaurant. They plan to have an 18 stool bar with the restaurant a little upscaled from a burger stand, sounds like it should be a great place for the Marina folks.

OH....OK.....I heard once they tore down the old Surfs Out.....they lost their permit to build.

Maybe its a new deal............

That will be a great spot to hang out...........

Don,
Same place as the old one. ... How do u not know ???

Rob

I was down to the Marina this week and saw the work being done on it and they have a permit sign on the fence in front of the work site. The reason they tore down the old restaurant was that there was an empty unused gas tank under the old place and it had to be removed. The old owners lease was up any they did not want the additional expense of putting a large hole in the middle of the place to remove the tank.

check out the Anchorage in Lindenhurst.Great place,pool,tennis,24 hr security and a great family place. You don't even need to leave the dock to be away from home. You can BBQ right at your dock and most of the people there are great people..

Just priced out surfside and blue water
SS- 130 bucks a foot
BW- 90 bucks a foot.

My current spot behind someones private house..

45 bucks a foot.

Im going to stay where I am for now:)

No but you can weigh the cost difference to decide if the ammenities are worth the extra cash. I like the idea of a marina a little better, but the extra cost is just not in the budget this year. Although, I dont really see myself hanging out on the boat at a marina either.
