Just wanted to let you southenders know that the Marina I was at last year, Marina Shores in Portage is having a Transient Party Weekend July 11th - 13th
I was not able to scan in the invite and it is in a pdf form that photobucket.com won't accept so here are the details.

What:
Friday July 11th 8pm Movies at the Marina & Live Entertainment
Saturday July 12th Noon -4pm Luau including FOOD, MUSIC and opportunity to
meet the HAWAIIAN TROPIC MODELS
Sunday July 13th Noon - 4:30 pm Gary Air and Water Show ( just about 3 miles
away from marina)

They are offering discounted fuel, both gas and diesel (how much, I don't know)

$1.00 per foot of boat mooring per day
$30.00 party fee includes up to 6 wrist bands or $15.00 per person
Transient Dockage includes water, electric and full free access to swimming pool and fitness center.
Marina also has a full service bar and restaurant on site with a few more restaurants incl. Bass Pro Shop, Quaker Steak & Lube and a Lone Star Steak House.

I docked there last year while Hammond was closed and they are a great group of people and it should be a good time as it is only 22 nautical miles from Chicago and about the same from Michigan City and Hammond.

R.S.V.P to 219-762-5700 or look them up at www.marinashoresin.com

I don;t work there nor do I in anyway profit from this thread, I just thopught it might be a fun thing to do and the Club Sea Ray guys could be recognized by flying there burgees......if you happen to be one of the lucky ones that own one.

Wow... they need to discount their fuel too. They're almost .40 more than Isaac Walton!

Thanks for the notice.
I was planning on heading out to the Air/Water show... but didnt know about this.

Dan, I see that you headed back to Hammond.
Marina Shores is EMPTY! They must really be struggling to get people in there.

Not only that, but I see they pretty much put a stop to all of the new housing around the marina. Its just a shame that everything there was SO OVERPRICED!

Ill definitely keep this in mind for the coming weekend.
Thanks!

(PS - we headed out to Boaters Beach yesterday... WOW what a gorgeous day!

Yeah I have heard there are only about 45-60 boats there.
Talked to Karen in the office and there have been some sales, but the economy around there and even here just plain 'sucks'.
That ok to say Wes?
We have about 5-10 boats coming over either on Friday afternoon or early Saturday depending on sea conditions.
Looking forward to it.
If you get over to Hammond during the summer look us up on R-16
Couple of boats went to Boater's Beach on Sunday also.
Looking forward to that too.
