Twin 5.0 Mercruisers w/ Bravo lll Drives
Hello all. I need to change the manifolds and risers on my 2007 290 Sundancer with twin 5.0s. I plan on doing the job myself but have a few questions. First, any recommendations for a good place to purchase OEM parts? Second, do I need the serial numbers from the engines to order the correct parts? I was on one site and their breakdown had many different 5.0 engines listed. Last, any tips or tricks from those who have done this before would be appreciated. I did it on a 1995 5.0 years ago but don't know what, if any, differences to expect. Thank you.

Thank you for the response. I was poking around on their site and it looks like there is an option for the riser size. Im new to this boat so I'm not sure what size riser is on there; I'll have to take a look. Is it possible that the serial number of the engine doesn't specify what size riser was installled?

wish I could help with that, but I don’t know.
I have different engines, and there are different styles and sizes even for my engines.
I’d try calling them. In my experience they’re pretty helpful.

I did mine over last years winter on my 1998 290 with twin 5.0 efi. Serial number is helpful but also know the difference between a dry joint and a wet joint. Also the size of the spacer you will need. I did not go oem cause i plan on doing every 3 years and saved a ton of money. Quality is good and have not had a problemnat all. While i was in there i changed all my flappers and all my boots too
