I have Sony CDX-HS70MW radio, which is located in the cabin, and the Sony Marine Remote Commander, which is located in the cockpit. I'm sure you know this, but the Remote Commander controls the radio from the cockpit. The radio in the cabin works just fine. However, the Remote Commander doesn't work at all. I know it has power because the clock works, but I can't control any radio setting (volume, change stations, etc..) from it.

Is there a setting on the radio that enables the remote or is there something wrong? What am I missing? I've read both manuals and I can't find anything to help me solve this problem

Something so simple......

Thanks,
Chris

There are two cables going to the Sony remotes, one is for the display and the other, a standard 3.5mm stereo cable, handles the remote control functions. Make sure this second cable is connected on both ends. If you suspect it is bad, it can bypass/replaced it with a standard 3.5mm headphone extension cable.
