1989 340 Sedan Bridge.
Solid or cored hull?
thanks for the education

Call Sea Ray customer service. Give them your HIN and they can tell you.

Solid hull, but the hull is the least if your worries on the 340DB since the deck and sides of the deck house are fully cured and have holes in them everywhere for screws, rail stanchions, horns, windlass etc. You have far more risk of moisture intrusion there than in the hull.

Yes, it is.........but that is sort of my point. Boat shoppers moving to larger boats tend to get focused on the hull when there is really have more exposure to moisture intrusion in other areas.

The earlier sedan bridges are also very subject to leaks from the bridge area into the cabin. The cockpit walls from the combing board down to the cockpit floor is mica covered plywood that will soak up moisture from the edges......another area far more subject to rot than the hull.

Not going much larger. Last boat was an 83 30 ft dancer.
I would hope the survey will let me know if boat has any intrusion issues. Of course I appreciate the caution.
My question on hull was directed more at structural integrity. Boat will spend part of the year in the Sea of Cortez.

What my question is, what kind of can opener did he use on that "demo" picture to show us the core. Looks a little like my old boat did.
