After I bought my 195 Sport I joined this great forum and I've learned a lot. My 195 was the first boat I've owned in over 20 years, and it was great to be back on the water. As I suspected, I love it just as much now as I did back then.

After almost two seasons of loving my 2008 Sea Ray 195 Sport, I had a better idea of the conditions on the lake we boat on (Lake Anna, VA), and how we really use the boat. I decided that a nice Tritoon was probably the best for us, and about a month ago I took delivery of a new 2017 Sweetwater 2286 WB Tritoon with a Yamaha 150. It cruises at 40+ mph, corners on a dime, and slides over the sometimes rough water. We love it!! The Sea Ray sold last week, so I'm now fully part of the "Pontoon Revolution".

I just wanted to thank everyone here for all the great info, and for making me feel welcome even though I owned one of the smaller Sea Rays. This is a great forum and I'm sure I'll lurk here from time to time. Thanks again!!!

Pontoons have come a long way, I have friends who went from several cruisers, the latest being a 300da to a 25ft Harris Tritoon. At first I thought they were nuts, but they are a few years older than me and have grandkids that they take out - they had not spent a night on the 300 in over a year. The pontoon they got is very nice, has a 300 Verado, plenty of power, handles the lake chop well. The got the blacked out model with an arch for the bimini, Infinity woven vinyl flooring, they love it. Me, I've got the best of both worlds, my marina has a boat club with several Cobalts and Bennington pontoons, they refresh the fleet with current year models each spring - I have access to all of those boats for a small rental fee if I don't want to take out the SeaRay. A nice option if I have more than 2-3 people with me - you just can't beat a nice pontoon boat for a group out on the lake for the day.

Pontoons are very popular with the lake / dayboat crowd - I bet my marina sells 3 pontoons for every one fiberglass boat. And it's not for the light wallets, you can easily drop $70k + on a new tricked out pontoon boat.

We frequently ramp up with a friend of ours with a pontoon. It is nice having a giant floating living room to hang out on. If the bay is calm it is an ideal combination.

Don't feel you have to leave the Forum. I haven't had a Sea Ray in 5 years and they let me hang around.
