Hi all,
Just thought I would make it official that I have sold my 38. First off it was a very difficult decision to have made as we loved the boat, the lifestyle and especially the friends we made at our marina. The memories we made were priceless and being our first boat it was a hell of a steep learning curve, but we loved every minute of the journey.
Frustratingly, we were finding it difficult to get to the boat as much as we liked because of our busy business, my 12 year old daughters increasing extra curricular activities and her love of skateboarding and swimming all of which were pulling us in different directions on weekends. The tipping point in our decision was the current booming boat market where we sold our boat to an older couple we knew on our jetty at the end of our summer holidays. Upfront they accepted our selling price and the whole process was very quick. Otherwise we may have well kept her.
It’s been said the happiest days of a boaters life are the day you buy the boat and the day you sell it. However, the day we walked off the boat for the last time was an emotional day for us as we were leaving behind nearly seven year journey of memories, friendships and the best lifestyle anyone could ever wish for. For seven years our boat also provided quality family time together as we were an hour away from where we lived, so we were free of distractions and the temptation to drop into the office.
We do intend to buy another boat in around 3 years time, but this time probably from the locally made Riviera or Maritimo flybridge models.
I’ll still continue to check in to see what everyone is up to and assist where I can.
