Well I decided after 1 season with the Sundancer to upgrade to a more livable style Motor Yacht.
Actually got a GREAT deal on a 91 41 Silverton Aft Cabin Motor Yacht.
This is quite a jump from a 30 foot sport cruiser to a 41 foot ACMY

Thanks to all the great Sea Ray owners on here who were very welcoming and helpful last year.
Happy boating season to you all

Here is the old (sorry it's a big pic)

And here is the new Silverton model

I think the Sea Ray has a better hood ornament!

Good luck with your new boat!! I like the Silvertons too. I will struggle with the decision down the road whether to upgrade to a 460 or 540 DA or go with the 45 Silverton ACMY as I love all 3 boats. What year is your Silverton? The newer models actually have the full beam salon which is tremendous inside with the staircase down to the bow from the bridge on each side.

I will be interested on how you like the Silverton. When/if we upgrade our boat, we are thinking of going with a Sea Ray Sedan bridge, Carver, or Silverton (between 35-40ft).

LOL Yeah I agree but hope to have an all new hood ornament on the Silverton soon. She's a 91 model and this model remained unchanged till about 97
She has a 15 foot beam and a huge salon which drops down to the galley and dinette area. She has 2 staterooms and 2 heads and great size aft deck with wet bar
Here are some more pics of the model (not my actual as she's being worked on)

Not all these pics re my actual boat but it's just to show you the interior layout of this model

370 hours....that just 18.5 hours per year over the last 20 years!!!!! I guess it's more of a weekend condo. Do you plan to ride her along at hull speed most of the time?

I believe she was repowered 5 years ago and for the last 3 years, my marina owner has been living on her with his wife and 3 dogs. During that time she was a floating home and never left the dock.
Needless to say she is in the shop now having a complete interior refit. New sofa, new banquets, carpets, cabinets, furnishings etc.

Thats why I got such a great deal on the purchase.

She weights 28,000lbs so she cuts through the water very smoothly at a cruising speed of 21knots and a top end of around 30knots

Sounds great. Consider taking her to the 2011 AC Rendezvous.....

Are you sure about those speeds??? What RPM are you saying is cruise? That is a huge boat, with a huge beam, I don't see it getting to 30 kts at WOT.... As Dom said, I would think this boat would be a good displacement speed cruiser.

Don't get me wrong, it is a nice boat! I just think the speeds are optimistic...

I'm not sure I agree with those speeds, probably in MPH. I cruise mine with 454's weighing in around 22,000 lbs. loaded up at 21/22 MPH (32/3300 RPM) and can top out at 32/33 MPH.

You could well be right Larry as I'm going off previous owners figures, not my actuals. When we sea trialed her however, she did get to cruising speed of 21 and yes we could be talking MPH not Knots

My neighbor has the same boat with the same power. He cruises comfortably at 19kts / 21 mph. I don't know what his WOT speed is, but he can push her faster when he wants to.

Man,
I do love all of the living space in there!! Down the road as my kids get bigger I will need that kind of space. Especially if they want to bring friends to the beach for the weekend!!

John
Congrats! Man, that's a world of space more than your 300DA. Best of luck. You still at Key Harbor? You can come to AC, even with a Silverton! If your work schedule permits it.

Thanks Ron and all others for the kind remarks. Yes she truly is like a floating condo.
The reason I bought her was that we enjoyed the 300DA so much last Summer and we always had friends who wanted to come down and hang out with us.
The Sea Ray just was too small for all the entertaining we did and the Silverton was a great deal I couldn't pass up.

I actually sold the SR for the same amount I paid for her so she held her price well for 2 years

Yes Ron I am at Key Harbor although I'm going into a new and bigger slip this year (B-17)
Would love to join you guys this year for the AC trip and meet up with you at Tices or wherever you hang out. Although with a 3'7" draft I dont think I can get too close to the beach
Here is the latest pic we took on Saturday. 1/2 waxed and bottom painted
