Now that some have the Solaire grills how do you like them, and how did you mount them. I am looking at the rail mount, but $160 is hard to swallow. I use the old pole mount that came with the old Magma and want to do away with it. Any suggestions and pictures would be great. Cook on.

Jim, We got ours before we ran over to the Bahamas last summer.
It really is a Great little grill. Got it on ebay. Wife really likes it too. Good
luck, JC

After reading the old thread started by Gary comparing BBQs, we are planning to replace our one year old Magma Catalina with a Solaire grill in the Spring, so I would also be interested in hearing news from those who have already bought and installed one. I am also planning to use the horizontal rail mount (similar to our current setup) and am also choking on the overall expense of the grill + mount. But the Magma flames up way too much and aside from the differences in actual cooking, I'm concerned about th safety risk from being unable to barbeque without having constant flame-ups.

Have had mine now for 3+ seasons.
Bought a Magma base mount and attached it to the bottom oF the Solaire.
Per a lot of posts here on CSR I mounted the base on my swim platform.
Some have a cover for the boarding ladder and it can be hidden under there.
I did not so a flush mount was my option.

Cannot say enough good things about the grill.Usually have 6-8 people for dinner every Sat evening.
Some here on the site have even been invited.!!!!

Larry, One of the best things about the Solaire is no flame ups. The grease that does make it out of the v shape grills burn out before ever hitting the 9 billon degree burner as Gary would say. I was always a little disapointed with the flame ups on the Magma.

I love my Solaire, it just takes some getting used to how fast things cook but it is easy to use, easy to clean and I have produced some great meals off of it. More great meals to come!
