So you got yourself COVID vaccine. Think you can’t get COVID? Think again.

So according to an organization that has been taken over by the left a state known as a destination for retirees did very well.

Again the unquestioned belief in the vaccine rears its head in 2/3 of your points. If one can get Covid, spread Covid after the vaccine why does one need the vaccine?

Why do you believe them?
I don't think being at the bottom of the heap in terms of objective, per capita measures wrt the covid response in nursing homes is doing "very well". AARP is merely aggregating what the states report so whether or not they are leftist is immaterial.

I've taken the time to do my own assessment of the vaccines. They were never touted as an impregnable shield against either infection, death or spread. They serve to bolster the defenses our bodies already have and so far, have proven to be quite effective at doing that. The fact that virtually all new hospitalizations and deaths are among the unvaccinated ought to be convincing. They also may be reducing spread but the jury is still out on that.

I think what the US should do is shut down the economy, open its borders to allow Un-vaccinated illegal aliens that carry other communicable diseases, including covid, in the US and fly them all over the country using our military, as well as pay healthy Americans to sit-on-ass all day. I like that plan….and while we’re at it, let’s divide the country’s populous over race, 58 genders, wealth and those who decide to get the jab and those who don’t.

Sounds like a WINNING plan!

I didn't say what we did was ideal. I'm asking for a legitimate plan from you naysayers. It's an honest question. If you're going to be an arm chair president/governor/scientist, then let's see a real plan. Otherwise, you're just whining.

Your plan would expose health conditions in workers. And if I’m a manager and see that one worker isn’t able to travel while the other is and it comes time for layoffs which employee do you think I’m going to keep?
yeah ok whatever. Not sure why one could travel and not the other due to "health issues." If your job requires travel, then you travel. If you have health issues which prohibit travel, might be a good idea not to take a job that requires travel.

In Canada the top news item is the economy and lack of food production. A cob of corn is now selling for $1.50 in Canada in our area. In the west in the US and Canada the weather has produced extensive crop failure. It seems starvation is going to be a bigger problem than covid soon.
Yeah, and taco bell is running out of food as well.

I believe the plan was outlined above.

I travel for work.
I have health issues that make me more susceptible to covid. Your opinion is that I should find a new job, and give up on 25 yrs of my career?

From the article:
J&J submitted its Covid vaccine data to the FDA on Feb. 4. The vaccine’s level of protection varied by region, J&J said, with the shot demonstrating 66% effectiveness overall, 72% in the United States, 66% in Latin America and 57% in South Africa, where the B.1.351 variant is rapidly spreading. However, FDA staff documents show the vaccine was 64% effective in South Africa after about a month. The company said the vaccine prevented 100% of hospitalizations and deaths.

Versus having us all suffer, locked in our houses with masks on because some people are more susceptible to Covid? You're susceptible to covid whether you travel or not. Take precautions to protect yourself. If it means a new job, then so be it.

I think you should be allowed to do what you deem is necessary for the safety of your personal health.

To the contrary, just because you’re a risk does not mean the rest of the world shuts down because of your risk factors.

The company reported on the results of the clinical trials and in fact, there were no hospitalizations or deaths among the 40K+ participants. This was a good indicator but still not reflective of exactly what will actually happen in the real world. Sadly, most don't make an effort to drill down into the results or to obtain a better understanding of the process and math involved.
