So you got yourself COVID vaccine. Think you can’t get COVID? Think again.

No it is not. HOWEVER, to the unlucky few pct. it's a fkg nightmare. Guy on my dock was out for 4 months and on a hear monitor. Still looks like chit. My Office Manager has been out for 4 months and probably two more with various issues. There is a 90+% chance you'll be fine. The other 10-% are in a world of hurt.

Sounds like nature. Life is not 100%. With all our so called progress about 10% succumb to death. Nothing unusual here.

Meet fluvoxamine. Pursued as a potential therapy by (gasp) Canadians, it appears to have a great deal of promise as a cheap and easy to take therapy that could be a game-changer. Fluvoxamine broke out as effective in a trial that also tested hydroxychloroquine and ivermectin, neither of which was shown to be effective, in this trial or others. Like both of those, fluvoxamine has been around a long time so the risks are known.
How a cheap antidepressant emerged as a promising Covid-19 treatment
Most Covid-19 drug treatments that have been included in trials haven’t panned out. A large new study suggests fluvoxamine might be different.

If fluvoxamine continues to pan out, it will be interesting to see whether the same folks who are now upset about the therapies that don't work will embrace it.

How can we know once the science and medicine are political?

Have you seen the double blind controlled study of hydroxy they did on treatment of early infections?

Really. You don’t think Covid is unusual? What you smoking?

As the Nicholson character in A Few Good Men said, “you can’t handle the truth”. Not directed to you personally but so many cannot look at this unemotionally

It is pretty simple the virus is novel, meaning new to mankind. (Using your numbers.). About 10% that get it, mostly those in identifiable risk brackets, will succumb to the virus.

Really??? That is the best response your petty little arrogant intellect can produce.

Just another selfish high risk individual trying desperately to mandate others lives...
I'm not trying to mandate anything he claimed tests have never been used on healthy people before. I gave him a link to a world leading medical institution with information on testing.

Might as well add my rant to this thread. I’ll just say people on both sides are just ridiculous. First the COVID vaccine. Did anyone honestly believe this vaccine would put a force field around you? I mean it’s raced to market for one and considering they make new flu shots every year and those still aren’t absolute why on earth would you think this was? So again get the shot or not. Much like the flu shot you know your risks.
Second the mask debate. People who don’t want to wear them and hide behind my civil rights are violated should just get whacked in the head. I mean a business puts up a sign that says no shirt no shoes no service. I didn’t see anyone line up to defend their civil rights. Why you ask? Cause it’s a public health issue get it? So if you don’t want to wear your shirt and shoes in the store, please boycott those as well.
The little that is asked and how ridiculously people have responded is just crazy

Your rant is incoherent. A private business can demand a mask. The governments, debatable. By your logic if a mask can be mandated then so can a vax.

Reason the Fed hasn’t mandated vax is because they know they’d lose that challenge. In addition is a political loser.

But I feel everyone that believes in vax should get them early and often in fact should double up!

Since almost all trials are double-blind, I guess yes. The study I cited earlier that resulted in fluvoxamine showing effectiveness (and hydroxychloroquine not) was double blind.
Here's another one:
A Randomized Trial of Hydroxychloroquine as Postexposure Prophylaxis for Covid-19
"After high-risk or moderate-risk exposure to Covid-19, hydroxychloroquine did not prevent illness compatible with Covid-19 or confirmed infection when used as postexposure prophylaxis within 4 days after exposure."
Would you please provide the link to the study you are referring to?

@Iprof get over yourself. Some employers are testing employees twice a week if they don't get the vax.

Please point to where this has been done before! So far you've failed to do so.

I was not discussing testing done by your doctor WHEN YOU GO IN FOR A CHECKUP! That would not qualify as testing people, correct? You are there on your own, asking for the testing, correct?

My blood wasn't tested for any diseases on my last checkup.... just normal labs.

I think you're confused... maybe you should get jabbed again or another covid swab.

@Golfman25 some valid points!

They will scream fake news.

I have often been pondering, now that employers have decided that they are going to take responsibility for their employees health, how the employers are going to react when they become liable for every communicable disease.

Why Does this bother you?

@Iprof says we have done this before. I'm waiting for him to show where and when.

You only test healthy people, showing no symptoms to drive up the case count (and likely false positives).

Why did the inventor of the PCR test come out and say it wasn't designed to be used as they are using it?

Why are they running it to 35-40 cycles, when Fauci himself, is on camera years ago saying that is too many cycles (and draw false positives? - paraphrasing, it's not in front of me).
