So who are you anyway and why a boat?

I am 37 and my wife Jennifer is 29. I have been an RN for 15 years. I have worked from LA to Miami. I currently reside in Springfield, MO where I work in a Surgical ICU recovering open heart paients. My wife is an accountant for probably the largest commercial construction companies in southwest Missouri. She is the love of my life as we reconnected last year and eloped in South Padre, Texas.
We have no kids just Fred our Basset Hound which is my best "non-human" friend.
I soon plan to return to school for a Masters in something because I just have to have that 40 foot boat someday.
The 240 DA is my second boat my first was a 225 Crownline cuddy that I refurbished, I loved that boat more than anything until I met my wife. Some of the best times of my life were on that boat so we decided to step up in size and comfort. My close friends have 33 DA's and it sold me on the Sea Ray. So here I am.

Hi, My name is Lee. I have boating since 5 and I will turn 55 this June. I started out in a 10ft pram which I could sail or put a 3HP kicker on it to explore the water around Morehead City, N.C. Currently married to a gal that grew up on the Tennessee River and have two daughters one 22 and the other 18. The 18 yo will graduate this Saurday and will be off to the TIDE to join her sister. I am a V.P. of Operations for a manufacturer of sub-fractional HP DC motors. I have owned several sailboats and CC outboards over the years and currently live near the Panhandle of FL. Some of my happiest times were during and after college exploring the sounds and water ways from Morehead up to Ocracoke and spending the night out on my boat at Cape Lookout or in Front of Beaufort in my 21 ft Mako. I had a spray sheild, bimini top and zip in isinglass ....a low budget go anywhere boat. With the ocasional visit from a BGF it was a wounderful time. I sold my last boat, a 28ft Hunter sailboat a year ago and have purchased a 2001 290 Sundancer which I keep in Panama City, Fl. Went down Saturday night and spent the night at the marina and then joined what is refered to as "Sea Ray Row" out behind Shell Island. Had about 25+ Sea Rays from 18ft Sundecks to 48 Sundancers backed into the island.

So far I love the boat and like being on something I can wash, clean, tinker and maintain

I already wrote some about my boating experience in my intro & bad weather posts

I am 56 yrs young

I am picking up my 04 220 sundeck today (with only 8 hrs. on it)

& for me it was either a sports car or new Harley & a new young wife or a new boat - & I thought a boat would be a lot cheaper

Actually my wife & family like boating as much as I do (my 3 kids are all in their 30's & 20's & I now have 3 Grandkids) been married 35 years

I remember thinking when I was younger (20's) how can I ever afford a nice boat - I had a older friend who had a 27 ft Cabin Cruiser (Silverline) & was amazed it had patio doors in the back

I'm not there yet - but I can see the day where renting a slip & having a bigger boat just seems like a natural progression

There are some sweet boats on this site - Do many of you sleep in yours & really use all the kitchen amenities etc. ?

What is the longest you have stayed out in your boat ?

We just spent 5 nights on ours. With the exception of one dinner out, all meals were done on the boat.
