John, if you recall, had his brain fixed... got a new babe apparently after that.

The misses and I celebrated 32 years together yesterday. She got me onto the water. My only previous experience was in a 12' jon boat on long, hot summer days fishing with my dad on Mississippi ponds as a kid. (that's probably what took me so long to get back on a boat) Two married daughters, 2 beautiful granddaughters that DO love to be out on the lake.

Darin, 41 myself, live in Richmond, grew up in Urbanna and Richmond...wonder if we ever crossed paths?

Its possible, my Mom and Dad grew up in Richmond, still have alot of family there. My Dad owned a lot with a trailer down at Burrells Marina, and my uncles would keep their boats there. I've walked those roads quite a few times in the sweltering heat, dodging snakes and picking at dead turtles.... Memories!! I'll be heading that way in a few months, I will definitely drop you a line.

I'm 18, I live in northern MN on a medium sized lake. I work for cass county.

My dad owns the boat, 06' 175 sport.
Lots of fun, getting a little small. Might leave sea ray for a inboard since all we do is wakeboard and ski.

Why a boat? When you live in the land of 10k lakes and live on a lake. It just seems right to have a boat. Now only if the lakes didn't freeze for half the year.....

Hey all.......Brian here, just turned 47, today actually. I supervise an electrical utilities crew and my wife, a couple years younger, works in the recovery room at St. Clair Hospital as an RN.

Bought my first "real" boat last summer, a 300DA with 40hrs on it. It has been a learning experience but we both love being on the water. There are so many great destinations in the Pacific Northwest that we had to see if boating was for us. Now, we can't get enough of it! :smt038

Adam here, 23 years old, parts guy for the family diesel truck shop. Been around boats all my life. From my dads 403 olds baja jet boat, to a baja runabout, numerous bass boats, and growin up on the river has always had me hooked. Started off with a 20 ft celebrity runabout, then to my present 230 sea ray.

Brian, 35 years old, and on my 4th Sea Ray. I have been married for 8 years and have two girls, McKenna age 6 and Meredith age 2 1/2. My wife and I work together as investment managers and consultants.

My first Sea Ray was a 240 BR, then a 260BR, then a 290AJ and now the diesel 380. I too have been around boats all my life.

Eric, born in the 60s, younger than my smokin' hot wifey, have a few kids. Generally allowed to participate because I like Sea Rays, grew up on them, and have even owned a few, even though I bought another brand last fall.

Hobbies include washing the boat, fixing the boat, and taking out the boat.

Mark here. One of the first friends I can remember took me boating when we were in 4th grade. Then in high school another friend's parents owned a houseboat and a "haul ass runabout." We spent the Bicentennial on the lake. 7 guys, 3 boats, 4 nights, 1,000 of fireworks and 9 cases of beer. We were juniors in high school.
30 years out of high school someone offers me a 170 Horizon's Four Winns. Two years later I have brain surgery for a tumor and I am buying a Sea Ray. Another two years and I am on my second Sea Ray.

Life is short.

I told a friend that when I die I want the saying " I had fun" on my tombstone. He suggested "I'm still having fun."

I'm Dave, just turned 29. Wife is 29 also. Our first child is due any day now! Hopefully this weekend, since our sea trial is next week on a 40db. Last boat was a 30 Doral. Lots of fun, but need something a little bigger for the newborn (that was my excuse)! Just moved from Canada to US this year. Mechanical designer for Honda.

I'm John 36, my wife Jennifer is a few years younger. We have a beatiful daughter, a dog and a bunny rabbit. I spent 10 years in the Army as an explosive ordnance disposal technician (think bomb squad). Deployed to Iraq and Afghanistan 3 times. After putting on the bomb suit and disposing over hundreds or IED's and vehicle borne IED's I decided I had enough.

I now am a civilian contractor teaching military students how to defuse roadside bombs in Iraq and elsewere. Bought the boat because I need to have a happy place and the water is it. Just something special about spending the day on the water with family and friends, but I guess I don't have to tell you guys about that...

Ron here. Seems everybody that has checked in on this thread are younger than my three "kids". Figured about time for a 'Geezer' to add his 2c. I'm 73.

Self employed all working life, except when on Uncle Sams payroll 1952-1956. Ran a gas station and garage til retired about ten years ago.
Started out with a 14' Montgomery Ward boat with an Evenrude that had to be at least 30 years old.
Boats include 16' Starcraft w/85HP outboard,17' Searay, 21' Searay, 25' Searay, 27' Searay (did someone say "2 footitis?). Present boat 1986 340SB, which is for sale cheap (plug). Have on order a 25' Rosborough.
Our home port is Buoy 39 Marina on Lake Champlain.
Past my bedtime-catch y'all later.
Ron

just me here , i'm 52.......35 on a GPS . I like boats cause Airplane's cost to much and you can't stop to take a leak

Mike, 25, no wife, no kids... just my yellow lab sidekick Caesar. Work for a manufacturer of packaging supplies.

When I was a kid we used to do yearly trips out to Cape Cod and got in the habit of renting a boat for the day on the bay side.

Younger-older brother bought a bass boat a few years ago, then the older-older brother bought a 24' Cuddy (later moved on to a 32 or 34'). Always enjoyed going out on their boats, and boats in general, and have been keeping an eye out for "the one" for the last 2 or 3 years now.

Came across a beautiful 1968 31' Chris Craft last spring, but ended up buying a new car instead. I still kick myself today for missing out on that, and told myself the next "one" I come across will be it. Saw the Sea Ray pop up on a local broker's site and that was that.
