Bart, those are scary close coincidences! The Imperial and Cordoba were very closely related, as you probably know. Similar tastes and similar ages. Sigh. But grew up on different continents.
Yeah, when Ford screws up, they really do it big time. Eventually, though, they did fix the LS V8's problem. The LS was basically Jaguar's S-Type platform and the V8 was Jag's AJ V8, but "decontented" to reduce costs for the US market. The AJ was a good engine for Jaguar, but the Ford version was awful until they fixed their cost reducing mistakes.
