Hey Guys/Gals,

The weather here today was around 70 degrees with no wind. The Great South bay was flat as a pancake all day long. I took advantage with a buddy of mine and we took the families to the beach for the day!
Here we are upon arrival!

Sorry the pics were taken with my phone. We forgot the camera today!:smt021

There were only five other boats that stopped by Watch Hill today. I am happy to say we were the first to arrive and the last to leave. What an awesome November Day!

Nice pics, Todd! That looks like a great reason to keep the kids out of school for the day. (My wife would disagree).

I took a cruise today as well. The upper Chesapeake was a sheet of glass. Felt great to be out today. Trying to make up for the horrible September we had.

Eric,
Thanks! The beauty of it is that today was election day and the schools were closed!! I saw the forecast last week and started making plans with my friend to run the boats after the kids got on the bus. He called back and reminded me the kids were off already!! So his wife took off ( he & me & my wife were all off this day anyway) and off we went! What a great day for a run though, huh? Glad you made it out too. It's really a treat when you can grab a day like this late in the fall.

Ron,

How are you buddy? I guess you hauled your boat already? Sorry I didn't send your pics from MYC yet. I believe I still have your e-mail address and will get them to you soon. I think Joe is pi$$ed that I haven't sent them yet. I got a terse text from him and haven't heard from him since. I still have his email too and will send his out the same time.

A few more pics:

Basturd!!! I spent yesturday afternoon winterizing my boat, on land...:smt021

Was the electric working over there? I took a short ride out to the middle of the bay yesterday. Its not too often you see the bay that flat in the afternoon.

I won't call you names... but it looks like you had a great day.. (sigh). Man I can't wait till spring... thanks for sharing with the land yacht owners Todd...

Wow Larry,
I'm a bastard and a Turd? Very creative! You are getting a little more like Gary every day!! :smt043

Tim,
There was no electric and no water. I just filled my water up before I went over and ran the genny for a little while. There was plenty of sunshine though as you know from being out there and four National Park Rangers as well as a barge loading up things including a big Tow Truck and trailer! I found out that the Rangers do all of the construction maintenance after the season over there! The wierd thing was that they removed the bouys and only had a couple of small red markers spaced out VERY far from each other. Since my GPS blew out over the summer it was a little dicey running the channel. Going in was high tide but coming out was low and there was no water by the second marker so we both touched bottom there at idle speed. If you go over be careful!

Pyro,
Thanks for abstaining from the name calling, unlike my good friend Larry!! I have to say I can't remember the last time I went to the beach this late in the season and wasn't wrapped up like a mummy! Hang in there, spring will be here before you know it!

We went over to WH Sunday to watch the Jet game. Once I saw no bouys for the WH channel we went to Davis Park instead. Like you, I wasn't worried about going in at high tide but wasn't crazy about the notion of going out at low tide. I really didn't like the thought of a grounding as the sun would be setting, Sea Tow or not. Davis turned out to be pretty nice Sunday, with about 30 boats staying the day and tons of others coming and going. At best I've got 2 weeks left and then it's time to haul out and get ready for Spring!!!

Todd, great pictures!

I'm glad that you were able to get another cruise out of the season. At least you making up for some lost days in the summer.

Brian's plan going to Davis instead sounded like a good idea. It's better be safe than sorry.

Cheers,
Alex

Forked River?? You ain't from these parts!

Looks like a great day spent on the water. I'm still glad mine is blocked and covered though! ;-)

Brian,
I was just saying to my buddy today that we should have gone to Davis just because of the channel and water being so flat all day. We didn't know the channel was going to be shoaled at that middle bouy. Definitely will be Davis if I get one more run. How did the docks look over there? Last pics I saw all of the piers were wiped out by the hurricane but the bulkheads were still pretty solid. Was there any power or water over there? I seem to remember it being on longer there because of the houses and fire dept.

Alex,
It was awesome to be out one more day. It helps make up for the short season I encountered this year due to the kids sports! I almost sold but, that is for another thread. I agree with the better safe than sorry phrase. If I make it over again it will definitely be Davis Park!

Ha Ha, You got me on that one Ron! I actually bought this boat from Robert & Diane, Shadow9999 on CSR. That's how I met them and am now friends with them. With all of my other projects and lots of indecision between me & my wife the Name/ Port change was low on the list. I hope to have it changed in the spring. I want a rugged boating name like Bounty Hunter or ....Endless Love! (Sorry Brian) J/K. I do plan on renaming her though and am looking forward to the ritual!!

Wow. I didn't know that. I know Rob pretty well. Didn't know that you bought his boat. COOL!

Todd

No water or electric at Davis. Bathrooms are closed too. The two east finger piers and the north dock are still missing but everything else is servicable. As for the boat name...not sure you have enough room on the transom for Endless Love (j/k). One of the reasons my boat is for sale is its name. (not kidding about that).

:wow:.....wow. Brian, why not just do the renaming ceremony? When I saw your boat F/S I thought you finally decided to upgrade.

Brian,
Touche'!! Ha ha, This is true!! I may have to shorten it to something like " End Love" or "Love-less"
