SMX II Air Cond. Control Panel

Hi All,

Anyone know how to repair this (look at Down & Temp button)? I was hoping just the mylar overlay could be changed/available, but that is not the case. I don't want to buy a whole new control panel as it works fine, it is just the buttons that are wearing out.

Thought/ideas?

I called them specifically about that recently. They do not repair or refurb the SMXii version. They will sell you their own in house made replacement.

I had a similar problem where my temp up button would not respond. So I took it completely apart to reveal the actual push switches. Tested it by pushing the actual switch and it clicked and worked fine. Put it all back together and now works normally. Only theory I have is the push button got hung up somehow and I freed it up when I took it apart.

I don’t believe so. But I do think they have an add-on that may give you that capability.

Thanks all. This control is in the master, easy to reach. A remote would be no better, and we'd probably loose it.

It looks like my only option is to replace the whole unit at a couple of boat bucks. I'm wondering if I could just glue those back? If it ruins the panel, no loss, just get a new one anyway, but might get lucky?

Flightsystems sells a perfect match replacement and it was around $175 when I bought one a few years ago. Can't be much more than that now.

I sent one into Flight Systems a couple weeks ago to be rebuilt…supposed to be $120.

An SMXii? Well that’s good. The guy specifically told me they don’t rebuild those. Said I had to buy his new product. Guess I better quit telling folks that.

Well. I haven’t gotten a quote or the controller back yet…I’ll report back.
