Does anyone know if Smartcraft's are back lit for night use?

Yes,

The intensity is controlled by the master system gauge /device. I don't have the sc1000 gauges so I can't tell you which one controls dash lighting. Our boat has the
Sc5000 system view and that controls our dash lighting.

Not sure I understand your answer but thanks. I have no dimmers on dash electronics and only a sun fader on the smartcraft as far as i can tell.

You have not indicated whether you have the System View or SC1000 Gauges. If you have the SC1000 gauges, Please see page 13 in the link below for a more detailed explanation. If you have the System View panel, please let us know.

My gauges light up when I trn on the Nav lights. There is no other switch that will turn them on (or I haven't found one yet).
