My Searay 300 has the vessel view wich I love ...When I got the boat it did not have the gps working on the vessel view My question is can I make it work by adding an anntena and the cable going to the system.

Do you have a chart plotter? I have the Raymarine C80 that provides GPS information to SmartCraft.

According to my Smartcraft Technical Service Manual, Smartcraft requires a compatible "NMEA0183 GPS Data Connection" Using the White/Light Blue tracer wire. This manual was released just before Vessel View was in production but I don't believe there have been many changes to the way SC Operates.

According to the same manual, there should be a 2 wire harness coming from the main plug connector (with white and blue wires) to connect to the GPS output of a compatible plotter. There is a mention where an adaptor harness 84-88951A02 could be needed.

Your best bet would probably be to call Mercury though.

Maybe I was a bit vague with my answer... Let me try again; No, there is no antenna or cable alone that will make your SmartCraft get GPS data. You will need a compatible GPS plotter.
