Smartcraft Tachometer Replacement

I have a 2005 220 SEL with Smartcraft gauges. The tachometer is cracked and LCD panel is almost burned out. I need to replace it as I can barely read the depth gauge with LCD panel failing. I priced a replacement from the Sea Ray dealer at $600. Can I just replace it with the Mercury Smartcraft SC1000 at half the price? Any experiences replacing the Smartcraft tachometer are appreciated.

Smartcraft gauges are interchangeable and plug and play. So as long as you are certain you have smartcraft, you can plug any device into that spot and it will work fine.

I replaced mine with the MercMonitor. Works great, lots of options, and you can change gauge color. I think it was around $300. It's plug and play.

Where did you purchase it? I’m in the need of a mercury smartcraft gauges sc1000, new model number is 1909622.
