Smartcraft issue

have a buddy with a 2008 44DA with diesels. Smart Craft system keeps randomly sounding alarm and prevents him from starting engines until he clears the codes. When running he says everything is within normal ranges. Any ideas?

There is a fair bit written up about Smartcraft (Smartcrap as they call it) on the boatdiesel.com Cummins forums. Probably worth having a look there.

From memory I think the starting point will be inspecting and cleaning all electrical connections on the motor, ensuring battery cables are good etc. Does he remember what code it's showing?

At the helm. where his left knee is and the 12 volt accessory plug is u have ur fire suppression bypass switch. Have him switch it to bypass. That's the only thing that will stop engines from running . Happens to me once a year. Ill bet the bank that's it .
