I have a 04 Sundeck, with a merc 5.0 MPI Bravo 3. Was having a starting issue and was told it could be a bad tach. Removed the tach but the problem ended up being a fuel pump relay. I put the tach back on and then none of the gauges work. I have power to smartcraft screen but getting no readings. Any ideas?

Smartcraft gauges are daisy chained using the short three Wired/pin plugs. If you have a System tach (the one with little LCD display and buttons) there is a large plug and a three wire pigtail with socket plug. The pigtail goes to the nearest small link gauge. The link gauges have two Three wire pigtails, one with a socket and one with male plug. The socket lead from the tach goes to the male link pigtail and so on.

If you have the tach without the display, then there is a three pin socket and three wire pigtail, just the same as the the small gauges. Hopefully I uploaded a couple pages from an old Merc Smartcraft riggings guide. If this does not work, pm me an email and I’ll send you the whole guide.

I will give the plug a shot. It’s difficult to get to because the radio amp is Attached there. Thanks for the info

It seems that I don’t have that plug you are referencing.
