Hi y'all, I have a frustrating problem with my 2005 390 Motor Yacht. The port-side fuel gauge must have a bad connection or a bad sender, because sometimes the gauge will read 'E' for a few minutes and then bounce back to the actual level. The annoying part is that it triggers a system alarm on the Smartcraft display, beeping and flashing until I press a button to reset. My maintenance guy is having difficulty finding the fuel gauge problem, but in the meantime is there a way to make the Smartcraft system ignore a low fuel issue so the alarm will stop sounding? I thumbed through all the screens but didn't see a way to do that.

Why not just fix the problem. Ground the sending wire at the tank, should make your gauge read full. If it does you got a bad sending unit.
Make sure you have power at the gauge. Check for 12 volts at the gauge when its reading empty. If that checks out ground the tank sending wire at the gauge.
Gauge should read full, if not , bad gauge. If the gauge is good and doesn't read full when you ground the sending wire at the tank, then you have a bad wire.

My problem is similar and I was about to ask the question but I believe scoflaw may have answered it. I have the '02 380 Sundancer with the port fuel tank in an awkward location. I changed the gauge but it is still registering Empty. I tried the gauge first since it was the easiest to get to. I haven't attempted to remove the sender yet but imagine it would be difficult because there is not much room between top of tank and deck. If I have to remove sending unit are they any tips to avoid having to move the tank?
Thanks
