SmartCraft IAC Alarm 8.1's

We run a 2005 390 Sundancer w/ 8.1 gas engines. While motoring in at no wake to docks.We had an Smartcraft alarm go off for two beeps every minute and the diagnostic screen said, IAC Alarm. I read on the site that this is a valve and it should be replaced. Is there a root cause for this alarm or is this basic over time replacement part? I have never replaced one of these. Any info on DIY would be appreciated. Thanks!

It was an IAC Alarm. The post is now corrected. THX

IAC's are around $100 and takes about 15 minutes to change out. Don't forget to change the small air/muffler filter too.
