Smart Tow on DTS Equipped Boats?

Well, I took it out ... and it works!

I should clarify...the RPM based version works, but I can't seem to find/set up the GPS version.

I know the GPS is live, because it's showing GPS speed on another screen.

Guess I'll just have to read that dang manual!

LOL

Okay, after having a full weekend to get familiarized with the system I gotta say - it works beautifully and is worth the effort to install - and if I was able to do it, you know it's an easy task! Basically, it is a "plug and play", along with hooking up power (easy!) and switching out the actual gauges (easy!). The only thing that took time for my particular install was the GPS puck, which required some drilling. If anybody is considering this, I'd highly reccomend it!

Hi,

I'm thinking about installing the same MercMonitor, but I have a couple of questions. NorCalGlen said that the RPM base works, but I'm wondering if the Speed base is working. Basically, I'm wondering if both the GPS and Speed Smart Tow is available using the same gauge?

I currently have a SmartCraft RPM Troll Control guage. Would I have full function with it or would a MercMonitor disable all or partial function of it?

Thanks

Hello!

FYI, and as a follow-up to my comment that my Smart Tow was only working on the RPM side...It was a simple toggle to flip it over to the GPS speed. To be honoest, the MercMonitor will do a ton of things, which I've never been motivated to learn. I stick to the Smart Tow, speed, trim, fuel, trim, oil pressure, water pressure. None of the tricky stuff. Maybe I'll read the manual this winter and expand my horizons. :)

Thanks for your reply.

I'm going with the GPS version and will replace the speedo, as you have.
