Smart phone app to monitor engine hours.

Does anyone know if there is an iPhone app that I can use to keep track of engine run hours and maintenance needed at specific run times. I am aware of Mercury's Vessel View but my boat doesn't have Smart Craft. Thanks

You can purchase the vessel view mobil. It is a plug and play. Easy to set up.

Don't you have hour meters on your boat? I use my meters, a pencil and a log book to keep track of my hours. Why does everyone want to complicate the simplest of tasks with technology?

Vessel view Mobil will only work on boats equipped with Mercury's Smart Craft. Mine is a 4.3TKS not smart craft compatible.

To each his own, to me it's much easier to put the hours for each maintenance task into an app on my phone one time, and have it send me a send me a note saying it's time to do this or do that, than it is to continually keep track with a pencil and paper.

Pretty easy to install a $10 hour meter in the engine compartment somewhere.

I use VesselVanguard to keep track of all maintenance tastes aboard our rather complex boat. Engine hours have to be entered manually, but it will track timed maintenance automatically.

It’s also a durable record of maintenance tasks that you can share with your mechanic or a prospective buyer.

Found exactly what I was looking for an app called Boat Maintenance Reminder by Corbenic Consulting $2.99 but it's not available through Apples iTunes store in the U.S. and not listed at all on Apples App Store. You enter the task you want to do and the hour interval you want to do it in and it notifies you when its time. All you have to do is turn the app on when you put the boat in the water and turn it off take it out.
