SLX 280 Base engine for water sports?

Hi, soon-to-be new boat owner considering 2018 SLX 280. Is the base engine MerCruiser 6.2L 350 HP sufficient for waterskiing and pulling tubes? Thanks!

Yes sir. That should be plenty of power.

Thanks! It’s an upgraded engine option for the SDX 290 so I was hoping it was solid.

When we test drove a 270 SLX(basically the same hull) it had the 6.2. I found it very under powered, especially out of the hole. I would not have bought our 270 with the 6.2. The 496 is night and day difference.
