I thought it might have been my cables just needed replacing and maybe they still do but I can't feel any play in them. Is there any adjustment in the old mercruser control head itself or is it most likely in the cables? I believe the cables are original which makes them 36 years old. If I do need to replace the cables is there any way I can find out the length that I need without pulling them out and and rendering the boat useless until i get new ones?
