Myself and most of the boaters on my dock use the "RV" white hose that is kink free (Home Depot). Well you can kink it, trust me.

Use whatever nozzle you like after that.

What exactly are you trying to accomplish?

Sorry..I.should have been more explicit,

After a day on the water, beach ashore, etc, I'd want to
wash down the boat to remove sand, salt water spray, upon docking...
some hoses i understand last longer and easier to handle....

Thanks....

 Thanks Mike..

I use a Craftsman Rubber hose. It is indestructible, no kinks, etc. However, it will leave your hands a little black from handling. I use latex gloves when handling it. You should not use rubber when filling your water tank though. It all depends on how many hoses you want to deal with I guess.

I have used both the rubber hose left my hands black and also put marks on the boat. I switched to a plastic hose last summer much better except when it is cold then it gets hard to roll back up.

I agree with Uplate on the white "RV" kink free hose. You can use it for any purpose, including filling your water tank without leaving marks on the boat when you drag it across your gunwales or stern. I have the black Craftsman hose and while it is bullet proof it marked the boat every time I used it and I still had to have the other hose for potable water anyway. As for the nozzle, whatever feels comfortable in your hand should suffice.

Great.....Thanks guys....

I use the cheapest thing available at homedepotlowes and replace it every couple to three years. It's not near as indestructible as the lifetime warranty hoses, but a lot lighter to drag around the boat. Never had a problem with marking the hull. It stays on the holder at the home dock.

I use a coil hose on trips. It stays in the trunk. I don't really care for it and am switching to a flat hose on a reel. They take up less space.

I try to use a hose nozzle like this primarily due to the protective rubber.

Potable water hose is a white recreational hose and reserved for that purpose, but that is just me.

Edit ADD--

Forgot to mention. You may want to look at a water conditioner if you have hard water at the dock.

Hose I don't really care about too much... any will be ok... but sometimes I just take the whole reel from my house in the truck bed....wheel it down use it roll it up wheel it back- but does take up a l;ot of space...
for nozzles I prefer the the all brass like this one... cause anything with plastic anywhere seems to break

Bill, On my '96 300 I made a clear plastic hose with a in-line refig water filter on it... I used for trips to connect marina water to my fresh water connection. I put a valve on one end and shut off valve when I left the boat. I would also had a cheap plastic hose that I found for cleaning the boat. With my 340, I have not gotten around to making a filtered hose, but I plan to. I have had the roll up hose from west marine. It is now full of holes form the wood splinters form our many trips to AC. I would not recommend it. I have the RV hose too. If you are in a marina, and plan to leave your hose out, I would recommend buying the cheapest one you can find...

BTW... Looks like the annual CSR trip to Trump Marina, will not be on July 4th weekend... We are waiting our our frearless leader "Capt Ron" to pick a date...
