The great lakes are currently running 4-6 inches above all time historic levels. The rivers have overflowed their banks stripping dead fall trees from them and floating downstream. The erosion is creating new sandbars. Everything ends in the great lakes. The forecast is for another 4” of lake levels by July or August. It will eventually drain out the Saint Lawrence seaway but its going to take a minute. In the mean time boaters here in Grand Haven Michigan are making the best of it. Last weekend was sunshine and 70s. This weekend its sunshine and 60s. Next will be 80s.On a somewhat related topic--with the 3 dams in central MI having failed and all that water going downstream then into the Saginaw River, what effect will that have on the lake levels in Huron, St. Clair and on down stream?
Out in CA, we had a below normal rainfall year but it follows last years record rainfall year so it all evens out. I have not heard the D word yet but that is only because the snowflakes in the newsrooms have been given a gift that won't stop giving with Trump and Covid. First slow news cycle they will be crying about fake drought conditions. What they fail to remember is for the most part, California is a natural desert that was transformed into the world's bread basket by humans.
