Hello folks,

I recently went from being a trailer sailor to being a slip sailor. I bought a great 1988 270 Sundancer back in August and have joined a Yacht club here in Toronto.

Haul out is next weekend and as part of the prep we are supposed to mark the deck with tape where the crane operators will put the slings. I have absolutely no idea where to mark the deck for this. Can anyone give me an idea of where to place the marks?

I read somewhere that there are marks on the deck already but I can't find anything. I do have the manual for the boat and see that the best place for cradle is 24" from the stern and the 114" forward of that. Would that be a good place for slings?

Thanks for any help you can provide.

Mike

Thanks for the reply. I will be setting it on a six pad cradle with a keel support stand fore and aft. Is your 300DA marked by Sea Ray and if so what do the marks look like? Rear and forward bulk heads make sense.

Yes, factory marked with engraved black/white plastic tabs screwed to the hull. I'll see if I can dig up a pick.

Mine are very brittle due to age I found out when I removed them while compounding the hull. Look for 4 sets of screw holes where they may have been, perhaps they are gone.

Thanks Dancer Dave! A pic would be extremely helpful. Is it near the rub rail? I would hope it is above the waterline. Don't want to dig out my scuba gear!

Super helpful! Thanks. Is there a tab in the forward part the boat too?
