Hello all. well this is my first time posting so go easy on me. lol I just bought a 2006 52 ft sea ray sedan bridge in Ontario. Im looking for a sling to attach from the 52 crane to the 12-13 ft tender for getting the tender in and out of the water onto the platform of the vessel. Surly, there must be other people out there that have one or know where to get one. Chains, strapping, looking for ideas please.
Brians@irmi.ca or answer me here. with thanks

Brian, welcome to CSR. That's a great boat you bought. We had a 550 Sedan Bridge until health issues forced us to sell it a couple years ago. We loved the boat and, coincidentally, it came from Michigan.

I think it's a perfect boat for the Great Lakes and we'd like to see pics of your new baby. Here's my baby.

Hey great meeting you. I look forward to corresponding with you and others. Once i get the hang of posting stuff and photos, I will certainly do that.

I have a Wichard SP300 sling. I don't use the crane anymore to lift the dinghy but I keep the sling onboard as a backup.

thank you, and I appreciate your response. can I ask what you use now? Have you purchased a hydrolic platform or towing? And lastly, can you or do you have a picture of your sling? I wonder if anybody has a used one they want to sell or can direct me to who does sell them.

with thanks

Brian

I installed Presto hydraulic davits. Defender sels the slings. We do a lot of cruising in the Bahamas and the water isn't a sheet of glass "lake water"; more likely pretty roley polly. For quite a few trips we used the davit crane and the sling to pick the dinghy from the side of the boat. It was always a task getting the crane's hook on the sling and safely back on the boat to pick the little boat out of the water and get it swung around to the swim platform. I can't tell you how many times I got my bell rang with the hook hitting me in the head. I have upsized the dinghy since this pic with the sling. The video is the Presto Davits with the new dinghy.

This is outstanding. Thank you for all your help. Did you perhaps consider a hydronic platform? If so, why did you go with the presto?
